Grief Peer Support Groups

Dealing with the loss of a loved one can be an incredibly challenging and isolating experience. At the Mariposa Family Resource Center, we understand the pain and difficulties that come with grief. We offer a safe and compassionate space where children, youth, and adults can find solace, understanding, and support during their grief journey.

Peer support: We believe in the power of connecting with others who have experienced similar losses. Our support group brings together individuals who are navigating their own grief journeys, creating a community where you can find comfort, validation, and shared understanding. Through shared stories and experiences, you’ll realize that you’re not alone in your grief.

Age-Appropriate Groups: We recognize that grief affects individuals of all ages differently. To ensure that our support is tailored to specific age groups, we offer separate support groups for children (ages 4-8 & 8-12), youth (13-18), and adults (18 and above). This approach allows for age-appropriate discussions, activities, and resources that address the unique needs of each group.

Facilitated Sessions: Our support group sessions are led by trained and compassionate facilitators. They provide guidance, facilitate discussions, and offer coping strategies to help participants navigate the grieving process. Our facilitators are experienced in creating a safe and inclusive space for everyone to share and heal.

Educational Resources: In addition to peer support, we provide educational resources and materials to help individuals better understand the grieving process. These resources may include books, articles, and online tools that offer insights into grief, coping mechanisms, and self-care practices.

Find Healing and Support: By joining our grief peer support group, you’ll be taking a significant step toward healing and finding support in a community that understands your journey. Together, we can navigate the challenges of grief, honor the memories of our loved ones, and find hope for the future.
